Working in the Alliances team as Senior Associate Sector Capability, Mia gets a real kick out of meeting people in the for-purpose space and learning about what they do and care about. She combines this curiosity with her eclectic blend of legal, consulting, and communications skills to support the for-purpose sector.
She left a career in corporate law (intellectual property and advertising law) just before sitting the New York bar exam (saved by an epiphany - why limit doing what you love to a just few hours pro bono here and there?!) and has never looked back. She has since spent over 10 years in the for-purpose sector, working across different impact areas and with a range of different organisations, including an intermediary in the philanthropic giving space, and in management with a children's charity using creative arts therapies to help kids impacted by trauma. After completing studies with the Centre for Social Impact, she’s honed her understanding of the sector and capability development skills working with an intermediary in the for-purpose space, Social Impact Hub.
Mia loves to dance - anything from ballet through to hip hop. She's also a big reader with a preference for fiction and is recharged by the sound of birds and time in nature.
