The Paul Ramsay Foundation is committed to the safety and wellbeing of children and young people. This commitment extends to all children who come into contact with the work of the Foundation, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, and children with disability.
The PRF’s commitment to the safety and wellbeing of children and young people is aligned with its core values of respect for people, learning and curiosity, loyalty, courage and innovation, as well as core principles of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, all values that are important in childhood.
In order to ensure the safety and wellbeing in all areas of the Foundation’s work, we:
recruit, screen, train and support our personnel who work with children
have clear expected standards of behaviour for our personnel in the form of a Child Safety Code of Conduct
require that any concerns or complaints about breaches of those standards are acted on in a timely, consistent and confidential manner and that all necessary reports are made to government agencies
provide policy guidance around what promoting child safety and wellbeing looks like in practice, including in physical environments and online
undertake risk assessments relating to our work with children to ensure we assess and manage risk appropriately, and
require that our partners have implemented minimum standards in relation to child safety and wellbeing, equivalent to the requirements above, in the programs to children and young people where we provide funding or partner in the delivery of the program.
