Wirringa Baiya (WBAWLC) provides Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and children across NSW with a gender-specific and culturally safe service. We offer victims-survivors of DFV and sexual assault access to legal representation, advocacy, advice, referral and casework. WBAWLC was established in 1997 as a result of advocacy by Aboriginal women identifying that legal services such as Aboriginal Legal Service and Legal Aid were not meeting the cultural and legal needs of Aboriginal women and children, particularly in relation to DFV and sexual violence.
