Family Access Network

Family Access Network (FAN) is a youth homelessness organisation that supports young people aged 15-25 experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness. Most young people who present to FAN are homeless due to family violence (FV). FAN is one of the few organisations in VIC offering specialist LGBTIQ FV services and is prescribed Risk Assessment Entity under FVISS & CISS.

What are we doing?

Youth + LGBTIQ Specialist Family Violence Therapeutic Arts Practitioner

Since Victoria emerged from the COVID-19 lockdowns, there has been a significant increase in demand for mental health services and waitlists are extensive. For young people who have experienced DFV and homelessness, and particularly those from the LGBTIQ community and young parents, cost is always a significant barrier to accessing support. The new role of DFV therapeutic practitioner will provide healing and recovery support to LGBTIQ+ young people and pregnant/parenting young people who have experienced DFV.
